The SIRIO and ORIONE are offshore patrol vessel for the supervision of the Italian fishing zone , surveillance and coastal defense and control of merchant shipping by sea ; are  part of the class Constellations 2nd series of the project called : New Unit Patrol Offshore , units operationally managed by the Navy and funded by the Ministry of Transport and Navigation.
